Bread Cutting Board
Bread Cutting Board
This very Brazilian cutting board is called a Migalheiro. It has a hidden crumb catcher for when you are slicing bread. Gorgeously hand-painted in Rio by artist Kiki Gedeon and made exclusively for The Carioca Kitchen, this one-of-a-kind-piece makes a statement next to your cheese board and would make a perfect unique gift.

About the artist
I'm Kiki Gédéon! I was born in Petrópolis, a mountain city in Rio de Janeiro, but I am Carioca at heart. I came to Rio de Janeiro when I was 12 years old and, as it was the first big change in my life, I immediately fell in love with the city! Being a Carioca for me means being proud of this wonderful city, caring and loving being surprised by the natural beauties that cross our eyes, practically every day!
I became enchanted with artistic painting at a very personal moment, when I was taking care of myself, looking at myself... so, I can say that I started it as a form of therapy. Painting calms me down a lot, it does me a lot of good!
I think art is a way of transforming what we feel through colors and shapes. Hence the special meaning for me of the phrase that represents so much of my work “art with affection”, as every piece is produced only by me (I make a point of preserving this), from beginning to end, and, without exception, they all carry a lot of dedication and love!
